Of course, I'm referring to the size compared with a regular PC keyboards - and it's a good deal smaller. This unit weighs only 3.2 oz., with dimensions of only 5.9 inches by 2.3 inches by 0.5 inches, while a standard computer keybpard is approximately 18x2x8 inches. It's lightweight and small, which makes it great for those who are on the move as it's so convenient to bring with you. Since it's so compact in size, it fits well between your hands for a comfortable typing experience. You can use the Rii with gaming systems like PS3 or wiki, and with PCs and laptops. Wires are redundant with the Rii's wireless capability, provided by a Bluetooth USB receiver, so you can easily connect to other wireless electronic devices. The Rii comes with the usual QWERTY layout, and also the convenience of a touchpad like those we know from laptops. There are also 26 LED lights built into this mini keyboard for when the adjacent lighting is not bright enough. The keyboard is provided standard with two rechargeable lithium ion batteries, which lets it operate. The majority of product reviewers on Amazon (of which there are a lot) have granted 4 and 5 star ratings to this device. Nonetheless, as indicated by a quantity of 1,2 and 3 star votes, the device may first seem fantastic but prove to be less so with time. One user observed that the keyboard connected to his Ubuntu system without any problems and worked reasonably well within a 30ft range, but any further than that and it ceased working well. 30 feet is rather a good distance though. If you are thinking of using this keyboard for multimedia purposes then you'll be pleased to know that there are buttons for volume and playlist control. Oftentimes, one wants a button that is not regularly needed; it's terrific that the Rii caters for some of those rare needs which can be frustrating if not met. No item is perfect, and so there are a few failings that should be cited. The touchpad works rather well; still, it can be a bit of a pain as it isn't always precise, unlike most normal laptop touchpads. One other annoyance - which can be circumvented by using the mouse buttons for left and right alternatively - is that the touchpad is a tad insensitive to tapping. There is a quirk with the QWERTY layout, in that the keys on the Rii are directly underneath each other, whereas they are staggered on a regular keyboard This isn't a huge issue; still, it does take some getting used to. If you are shopping for a mini keyboard that features a touch pad, you needn't look further than the Rii Wireless Keyboard. The price is terrific, and the many upsides make the few downsides look petty.
